Sophie comes to HPDC. all the way from Ontario Canada. She’s been a choreographer, and dance teacher for over 15 years. As a dance teacher, her pieces have won awards in dance festivals through out the US, Canada and Tel Aviv. Prior to moving to California , Sophie spent 6 years at The Dena Wosk School of Performing Arts in Vancouver B.C., where she was the head of the Jazz department. Sophie has choreographed shows for the University of Ottawa, Amnesty International, TheCanadian College of Performing Arts, De La Salle, and “Popstars” (the reality show). She has performed as a dancer for Disney Cruise Lines and Tokyo Disneyland and traveled across Canada as a musical theater performer. Some of her favorite shows include; Spirit of the Nation, Gypsy, Jesus Christ Super Star, Footloose and a Chorus line. Sophie's passion for film and music inspired her to create; "Sophie Olson Dance Explosion" an experimental dance troupe which uses film to explore stories in dance. Sophie recently choreographed a music video for the band "She and Him". The video features several Hart Pulse dancers and will be released this Spring. Sophie is proud to have been with HPDC since 07.
